DC-3s' at Alicante

Hi all
Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph on close hold
the two wfu
DC-3s' at Alicante.

Last Thursday I received some info saying,
that these two Daks now had been moved around the airfield
and that one of them was being dismantled or broken up!!
I therefore didn't hesitate to ask my local contact in the area
about what was going on.
It appears that the Spanish Air Force has decided to preserve one of the DC-3s'
and put it on static display at Salamanca.
The
A/C in question is apparently the Aeroflete example,
which then should make it EC-AQB c/n 12844.
But I'm not 100% sure whether this is right or not.
Air Force personnel currently dismantling and cleaning the various pieces
expect to be finished sometime next week.
Then the fuselage and wings will be transported by road to Salamanca.
These two photos of these aircraft as they looked two weeks ago.

*** BIG PROPS ***
Further to my last report it has now been confirmed that the C-47
to be salvaged and put on display at Salamanca AFB is EC-BUG c/n 2734/15986.
There is no indication on which c/s it will be painted in during its
restoration but most probably in Spanish Air Force c/s.
Actually this very same a/c flew for the Spanish Air Force from 1962 until 1976.
