The DC-3 Aviation Museum

Presents:

The Robert Wilhelm Collection

None of our aircraft were personalized until mid-1973.
None were particularly fancy as
with the bombers and so on during World War II.
They were all pretty basic and probably were wives, girlfriends
or maybe daughters of the ground crews. At least that's my guess.

Particularly in reference to 072,
"Lynda." The photo of the left side of the aircraft shows the name on the
nose and then
"Delores" on the engine cowling. The photo of the right side
didn't scan as well as I had hoped. The right engine is named
"Nedra." My
guess is the mother was Lynda and Delores and Nedra were daughters.
But that's purely speculation on my part.
Could have been girl friends or wives of three ground crewmen.
