World War II Veterans Of the 46th Group, Transport Command

Friends and family are ready to board a Dakota (AMRA) at Coventry Airport


The RAF Down Ampney Association
is a concentrated effort of over 31 years
to organize into a group
This group was in all the
D-Day, Arnhem and Rhine Crossing.
Between operations this Group
brought back over 100,000 casualties
from Europe
and after V-E Day
they brought back thousands of Line
Servicemen back to Blighty
from the Far and Middle East

At this same time they provided on going
service of delivering
personnel,
Petrol,
ammunition,
food,
clothing,
tyres,
in fact they became known as the
"Removal Men"!


The next annual reunion is at
Down Ampney on the
W/E 10/11th September 2005
